Our Team To Help You
All our podiatrists and physiotherapists have at least a BSc (Hons) degree qualification and all have taken some form of post graduated training. We all have plenty of experience in many different areas in which we work. We are covered by most of the insurance companies although this is dependent on who you are seeing and for what service.
Our other staff are very highly qualified in their field and have plenty of experience with treating many different conditions. We are a holistic team and as part of your treatment we may suggest you see someone in our team who we feel may be more suited to see you. We have a great admin team to support the clinicians and they will do their best to make sure you see the right person with the right appointment.
Colin Papworth
BSc (Hons), MRCPOD
Areas of work interest – running / walking gait analysis and gait retraining, custom orthoses, manual therapy and sports injury.
Colin qualified from Durham in 1999, after first working in outdoor sports retail since leaving school, and spent 4 years in London working in the NHS. After working in various areas of podiatry he was appointed the clinical lead for Biomechanics and gained experience by providing biomechanics support to Physios, diabetes, rheumatology, surgical and community teams.
In 2003 he moved to Sheffield and started to work in both Sheffield and Chesterfield in private clinics. Here he gained valuable experience in working alongside other podiatrists, physiotherapists, sports massage therapists, chiropractors and osteopaths. He works with GB Olympic teams based at EIS in Sheffield – boxing, table tennis, badminton, basketball and diving.
He has also worked with local company Talar Made delivering training courses on biomechanics and orthoses. Colin has run his own workshops for therapists and general public on biomechanics, orthoses, running technique, running analysis and treatment. We are hoping to start some of these up again next year.
Colin has a lot of experience in dealing with running injuries. He works from the Accelerate Running shop in Sheffield and has been very involved in looking at running gait analysis and helping runners introduce changes to their running style to help with over coming injury and helping with performance.
When not working he is often walking and running in the Peak District, paddleboarding, climbing and camping with the family and dog Pip.
Mr Declan Doherty
BSc (Hons), PGDip, MSc, MoPS, FRCPodS
Declan graduated from Ulster University with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry in 2014. He achieved a PGDip in Sport and Exercise medicine from Ulster University in 2016. He started working in private practice and developed an interest in podiatric surgery. He graduated from the University of Huddersfield with an MSc in Theory in Podiatric Surgery in 2019. During his MSc studies he worked as a staff podiatrist at Ilkeston Community Hospital. Later in 2019, he gained a post as a Trainee in Podiatric Surgery at Buxton Hospital under the tutorship of Mr Frank Webb. He recently achieved a Distinction in the Master of Podiatric Surgery course and achieved his Fellowship of Podiatric Surgery. Declan’s current role is as a Specialist Registrar in Podiatric Surgery at Buxton Hospital.
Declan has a keen interest in podiatric surgery, injection therapy, ultrasound imaging, MSK pain and non-medical prescribing.
Megan Aston-Barlow
Megan qualified as a podiatrist from the University of Huddersfield and believes in helping people stay active, comfortable and confident on their feet. Outside of clinic, she is passionate about movement and the outdoors – she regularly enjoys the gym, swimming, and horse riding, and relies heavily on exercise and time in nature for her own wellbeing.
Because staying active plays such an important role in Megan’s life,she understands how vital foot health is in keeping people moving, and able to enjoy the activities they love.
We have a fantastic Admin team led by our clinic manager Tracy brilliantly assisted by Karen and Katie.
